Understanding Coordinates and Directions

① Coordinates (X / Y / Z) 【Importance: ★★★★★】

• Shows your current location in the world.
• The first number is the X-coordinate (horizontal), and the third is the Z-coordinate (vertical).
• The second number is the Y-coordinate, which represents height. It’s less important for navigating horizontally.

② Cardinal Direction 【Importance: ★】

• This shows which cardinal direction you're facing.
• east → Direction of sunrise
• west → Direction of sunset
• south
• north
• In Minecraft, it’s often easier to navigate using X and Z coordinates than compass directions.

③ Direction Based on X/Z Coordinates 【Importance: ★★★★】

• Shows which direction increases or decreases the X/Z values. It's a quick way to figure out which way you need to go.
• positive X → X increases (East)
• negative X → X decreases (West)
• positive Z → Z increases (South)
• negative Z → Z decreases (North)
• Diagonal directions (e.g. northeast or southwest) may still appear as "positive X", etc.
• If you're facing directly at a block, you’ll see an exact label like “pure positive X”.

④ Direction in Degrees 【Importance: ★★★】

• Directions are also shown as angles between -180° and +180°.
• Once you're used to it, you can adjust your facing direction by looking at the number.
• On the map page, click the "Tools" button and enable "Mouse overlay display: Compass" to show a compass.

Other Information

• The line after positive X (Client Light) shows the light level from 0 to 15. Enemies can spawn at level 7 or lower.
• Values in parentheses show light from the sky and light-emitting blocks.
• The very bottom of the image shows the biome you’re currently in.
